Sustainability and circular economy
Since its inception, sustainability has been, in addition to design, an important pillar on which Donkersloot rests. We believe in the circular economy. That is not a dream for the future, but the new reality. In which we complete the circle, preserve raw materials and reuse products. This is about value creation and preservation of value.
Collaboration throughout the chain
Donkersloot led the way with the fully circular BT40, manufactured with the Niaga® tag. We will continue to look at which materials and technologies provide an even higher yield for people and the environment. We challenge our chain partners to help innovate and use their expertise to find new solutions, so that our carpets can be better reused and also disassembled more easily. All this in order to be able to use the processed raw materials for as long as possible. In addition to product development, this requires new ways of cooperation throughout the chain - from suppliers to project designers and upholsterers.
Circular transition
We are in the midst of the transition to the circular economy and while we increasingly encourage the downstream supply chain and the upstream return chain to become circular, we are bringing biodegradable carpets. Sustainable products, made with natural raw materials, that leave a lower footprint in today's linear chains. In this way, Donkersloot contributes to reducing the environmental footprint and a world in which valuable raw materials are preserved.
Transparency
In the transition to a sustainable, circular economy, it starts with transparency. Knowing which valuable raw materials are contained in the products and making that information available to users and chain partners is an important prerequisite for the transition. In addition, Donkersloot is committed to ensuring that the products end up with the right chain partner at the end of life to process them back into valuable raw materials.
Sustainability... In a book!
At Donkersloot, we think a lot about circularity and sustainability. And we're talking about it with our partners to find out together how we can best achieve that. We've put our thoughts into a book. And we'll leave that with you after a sustainability session. Do you think along with us? BE PART OF THE ECOSYSTEM! We are happy to discuss this with our partners in a sustainability session and with our sustainability handbook to support it. We'd love to schedule an (online) session with you! Leave a message via the contact page whether mail us and we'll get in touch with you.
